Cute Way 92-Year-Old Grandpa Not Used to 'Big Dogs' Interacts With Labrador

An awkward yet perfect relationship between a grandfather and a dog quickly went viral on TikTok with viewers begging for more videos of these two new buddies. A black Labrador named Pepper tried testing his luck to get some food during a family dinner one night. But to get closer to the table, Pepper needed to pick someone who would let it slide and that just so happened to be the dog owner's 92-year-old grandfather. "There was a lot of delicious food on the table, and my dog decided to hop on my grandpa's lap and rest his two front elbows on his lap to get a better look at the table," the owner Alison told Newsweek via email. More From Newsweek Vault: The Top Rewards Credit Cards for Pet Owners Pepper and this grandfather only interacted a few times before this moment. Alison said her grandfather is used to smaller dogs and as the text on the video reads, he "doesn't know how to interact with big dogs." In this instance, he didn't seem to mind the 70-pound dog snuggling up next to him. Unsure how to interact with the large dog, her grandfather kept one hand on Pepper's head in the June 20 TikTok video posted to the account @blacklabpepper. Then he started to tap his head awkwardly with Pepper's eyes staring ahead. The caption reads: "No dogs were harmed in this video."

It wasn't the most natural interaction between a human and a dog, but it worked for the two of them. Alison said Pepper didn't mind the head pats either. He was happy to be getting any attention. Since the video was posted, viewers have been begging to see more of this precious duo. Alison was away for a few weeks but they met back up with her grandfather recently. "Pepper and I just saw him about three days ago, and some new videos of them have been posted!" she said. "It'll take a bit more time for my grandpa and Pepper to open up to each other, but I am hopeful it will happen slowly but surely!"
