There's nothing cuter than a fumbled proposal.
One woman demonstrated this perfectly in a video she posted to TikTok. Peri (@lemony_sniffit) shared a candid video of her boyfriend trying to propose as she twirled and blew bubbles in a field, moving too fast to notice him. Since the video was posted on July 16, it has received 3.6 million views and over 860,000 likes.
"When he's trying to propose but you're just a girl blowing bubbles in a field," she captioned the video, which shows Peri spinning and blowing bubbles as her boyfriend continuously tries to catch her attention.

"I promise you this was definitely not what either of us expected the moment to be like," she wrote. "But regardless, it was perfect and silly, and we are very happy."
People in the comments were tickled by the boyfriend's frantic efforts, finding it kind that he kept trying to get her attention instead of sitting on one knee and waiting for her.
"Sweet of him to try again so you didn't feel silly," @lostapotheosis wrote.
"Legend has it, she's still spinning and he's still holding the ring waiting for the right moment," @spinswithlashay wrote.
Others could relate to Peri's obliviousness, saying they had similar experiences of distraction while their boyfriends tried to gain their focus.
"This was my husband chasing me because I had pregnancy sickness and couldn't get comfy anywhere," @thenarielsaid wrote. "We tried to pause at the park, and I'd get up to move. He finally stopped me on the sidewalk after I said I just wanted to leave. We will have been married 12 years in October."
"My now-husband tried to propose at my favorite museum site when I was off work and I kept forcing him out to the cars and literally said 'What is wrong with you, get in the truck now,'" @eliseviola23 wrote. "So instead, he proposed in a dark parking lot before we got supper that night."
Many asked for footage of Peri's actual proposal, which was absent from the video. In an update, she revealed that her boyfriend—now fiancé—finally managed to capture her eye.
In the follow-up video, she wrote in the caption: "Ok ok! Here's the rest of the video, but no one come for me about my initial reaction, because I was honestly confused at first and clearly oblivious in my own world!"
The video shows Peri still and stunned after turning around to find her fiancé kneeling down with a ring box. After a few moments of quiet, she accepts, and he puts the ring on her finger.
"I just needed a [little] time to process what even happened," Peri wrote. "We feel very blessed, [thank you] for all the love and kindness shared."
