You might believe you know your partner completely, especially after living together and even getting married. However, that's not always true, as shown by one wife's story about her husband's recent surprising discovery about her.
Hilary Filipowicz, 38, recently shared a story on TikTok that has left the internet in stitches. Speaking to the camera, she points out in her video that she has been married for five years and told Newsweek that she and her husband began dating back in 2016.
However, it wasn't until last month that he saw her true colors—literally.
Explaining what happened on TikTok, Filipowicz (@calmlychaoticmom) told her followers that her husband apparently had no idea what her natural skin tone was after years of seeing her wearing self-tanner.
Filipowicz from Shaker Heights, Ohio, told Newsweek: "I truly have worn some type of self-tanning product since college. I've used so many different products over the years. I can't say I'm always the same shade, but I always have some tint to my skin."
Tanning has become a part of her daily routine, but on this rare occasion, she was too tired and busy to apply it. This became a cause for concern for her 38-year-old husband. During the clip, the stay-at-home mom said that he kept asking if she was OK and suggesting she sit down and drink some water.
The confused woman wondered why he kept asking, which is when he said, "You're so pale, I can see your veins." It was then that she realized he was completely unaware of her natural skin tone.
