Bride-To-Be Devastated by Wedding Makeup Trial—'Literally Crying'

A bride-to-be was left in tears after a trial run of her wedding makeup didn't quite live up to her expectations. Cora Lopp had her trial with a makeup artist just 17 days before tying the knot, but she was less than impressed with the look created and was left searching for a new MUA. Lopp had provided an inspiration picture to help the original artist understand her vision, and shared to TikTok a comparison of the image and the look she left the trial with. The video has gone viral, gaining over 2.9 million views and 250,000 likes since it was shared on May 6. The clip's on-screen text, shared to the account @cora.lopp, reads, "POV: You have your trial for your wedding makeup and it turns out horrible," while in the audio she says, "I'm literally crying." Newsweek reached out to Lopp for comment. In the video's caption, she confirmed the stress the appointment had added to her wedding plans, leaving her worried about how she'd look. She wrote, "My wedding is in 17 days, and I have to find a new makeup artist." The inspiration picture showed a stunning, soft look that would pair perfectly with a white dress. It featured pearly finishes and soft pink tones on the eyes, lips, and cheeks for a clean-girl glam. Unfortunately for Lopp, the final result was unblended eye shadow, heavy lashes and liner, and little effort put into smoothing out fine lines. Some viewers of the video also mentioned how the MUA also overfilled the brows. Viewers were shocked by the makeup professional's poor artistry, as one simply shared, "This is why I'm doing my own makeup."

Many other brides seem to have made the decision to be responsible for their own makeup. As one commenter wrote, "The people saying it looks the same are why I trust NO ONE ELSE to do my makeup anymore lmao." "Honestly hiring makeup artists for weddings have always kind of confused me," said another viewer. "In my head no one knows my face better than me and what suits my features, I feel like often I see ppl do makeup on others how they do it on themselves, which usually ends up looking wonky." They continued: "Def understand in situations where someone doesn't do any makeup at all but I def am not good at it at all barely know anything at all but I do know basic things that look good on me so I'll prob just end up doing my own but to each their own!" The comments section also featured fellow makeup lovers trying to help Lopp make the best of her situation. One wrote, "It's not as pink & bright but I would recommend finding an example picture of someone with your eye color, eye shape, and hair color. That way it is more realistic to what you will get." "I've heard you should try to go with a style you are used to seeing on yourself, just ramped up a little, bc if you're not used to it it looks bad to you even if others like it," said another TikTok user.
