Kid's Clothing Recall in 5 States Over Injury Fears

Thousands of articles of children's clothing from Lovey & Grink sold online and in five states have been recalled over a newfound burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the company's recall on Thursday. "Lovey & Grink Recalls Children's Pajamas Due to Burn Hazard. The recalled children's pajamas violate the flammability regulations for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children," the U.S. CPSC posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday. "Get Refund. CONTACT: 877-360-5470." The recall includes four types of children's sleepwear, including girl's two-piece pajama sets, girl's nightgowns, boy's two-piece pajama sets and unisex two-piece pajama sets.

No injuries have been reported as of Thursday, and 23,720 units were recalled. The clothing was sold in California, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and Florida, as well as online at loveyandgrink.com, saks.com, bloomingdales.com and maisonette.com from September 2022 through January 2024. Prices for the pajama sets ranged from $38 to $44. The pajama sets were sold in prints named Sushi, S'mores, Heart Pops, Rainbow Sky, Popcorn, Puppy Love, Race Car, Sports, Beach Day, Summer Treats, Pasta, Cherry Berry, Love Potion, With the Band, Recycle, Halloween, Birthday Treats, Build-a-Block, Blue Gummy Bears, Gingerbread, Helicopters, Hanukkah Penguins, Rainbow Hearts and Vacation Vibes for sizes 12 Months to 9/10.

"Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajamas away from children, stop using them, and contact Lovey & Grink for a full refund. Consumers who purchased the product will be asked to destroy the garments by cutting them in half and disposing of them in accordance with local and state recycling laws," the U.S. CPSC said in its recall alert. After destroying the garment, consumers should send a photo of the garment to recall@loveyandgrink.com, which will issue a full refund of the purchase price upon receiving the photo. Newsweek reached out to Lovey and Grink by email for comment. The recall comes just two weeks after the U.S. CPSC warned of another product thatposed hazards to children. In March, the CPSC announced its concerns about two particular brands of water bead toys sold by the Chinese companies Jangostar and Tuladuo US. According to the commission, the Jangostor Large Water Beads and Tuladuo Water Bead Sets were found to have "levels of acrylamide in violation of the Federal Hazardous Substances Act." Both were found to have been sold in the U.S. through Amazon. In its warning, the CPSC said that young children had been hospitalized and required surgery after ingesting the water bead products in question.
