Rescue Cat Now Has Favorite Day of the Week for One Sweet Reason

A house chore that most people cannot stand is laundry, but it makes it easier when someone else in the house lends a hand, or paw, to help. A rescue tuxedo cat named Tuck cannot get enough of laundry day. In fact, it is his favorite day of the week. Owner BriAnne Wills told Newsweek via email that laundry day is always random, but somehow Tuck always knows when it's time. "He knows the sound of me getting clothes from the dryer and he keeps a watchful eye on me when I return from the hallway, which is where our dryer is," Wills said. "When he sees me carrying a load of clothes, he excitedly follows me to the bedroom." In the February 15 TikTok video posted to the account @tuck.and.liza, Tuck is ready and waiting on the bed for the laundry to be dumped out. He knows the routine at this point of where she folds the clothes.

She dumped the clothes right on top of him and then he instantly tried to borrow. Wills thinks it's sweet that Tuck does this and she understands the appeal, noting who doesn't like bundling up in something warm and cozy. There are a few reasons why cats like to burrow. First, it is part of their instinct. In the wild, they used to burrow as a way to protect themselves from predators and so that they could stalk their prey. That is now engrained in their DNA. Other reasons behind the burrowing are that cats simply like the comfort, safety, and playfulness associated with it. Owners should understand their cat's preference because burrowing could also be a signal that your feline is anxious or not feeling 100 percent. In Tuck's situation, he can't get enough of the coziness. So much so that he can sometimes get in the way of folding the laundry. "It only gets mildly frustrating when I'm folding my outside clothes, clothes I don't wear inside to avoid getting cat hair on it," she said. "But as long as I give him one warm item—sweatshirt, sweatpants—he's happy." The precious TikTok video touched the hearts of viewers, bringing in 96,300 views, 19,800 likes, and 174 comments as of Wednesday. "He's doing a GREAT JOB helping," commented a user. Another view said: "This is a Pixar movie." And apparently, this is quite common for cat parents: "My Bella does the same, she loves the warm sheets and towels."
