The moment a pilot greeted his parents before flying them from Italy to the United Kingdom has gone viral on TikTok.
The heartwarming moment showing Kristers Laicans waiting for his parents to step on the plane before hugging his mom and shaking his dad's hand has racked up 7.6 million views on the platform so far.
The clip's caption has pulled on the internet's heartstrings: "The most special day of my life. Today I had the opportunity to finally fly my parents, the most important people who made my dreams possible!
"For the past 6/7 years they have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to give me the opportunity to chase my dreams, it was so special to finally be able to welcome them onboard one of my flights, from the bottom of my heart I thank you so much for everything!"
The footage shows Laicans grinning from ear to ear while he waits in the main cabin doorway for his parents. The clip is perfectly paired with the Post Malone song "Congratulations." The lyrics mention working so hard which is something Laicans certainly had to do in order to get his "wings."
Laicans works for Wizz Air, a Hungarian ultra-low-cost carrier. Lacians' career path was anything but easy. There are a few ways to become a pilot—and one thing they all have in common is a hefty price tag, according to career website Indeed.
Aspiring pilots can gain the appropriate aviation qualifications at university, through passenger airline training programs, private flying schools or the military. Training to be a pilot is very expensive and ranges from $88,000 to $101,000, according to Indeed.
It came as no surprise to TikTok viewers that Laicans was overjoyed not only to achieve his dream but to have his parents witness his success.
