A mom was confronted by an unexpected sight after checking the baby cam, having heard "shrieking" coming from the next room where her husband was getting their daughter down for a nap.
When it comes to babies and naps, routine is everything. Dr. Claire McCarthy, a senior faculty editor at Harvard Health Publishing, believes it's crucial for infants to stick to a set nap schedule.
"Instead of waiting for a child to literally drop and fall asleep, have a regular naptime," she said. "We all do better when our sleep routines are regular, even adults. If you can, put the child down awake (or partially awake). Learning to fall asleep without a bottle or a breast, or without being held, is a helpful skill for children to learn and can lead to better sleep habits as they grow."
